CLIENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Client Assistance Program (CAP) is a federally funded program that provides information, assistance, and advocacy for people with disabilities who are seeking or receiving services from programs funded under the Rehabilitation Act. Those programs include services from the Division for Rehabilitation Services, the Division for Blind Services vocational rehabilitation program, and independent living programs.
The CAP program is implemented by Advocacy, Incorporated, a legal services organization whose mission is to protect the human, service, and legal rights of persons with disabilities in Texas. CAP advocates are not employees of DARS, DRS, or DBS. There are no fees for CAP services, which are provided by advocates and attorneys when necessary. Services are confidential.
CAP can help people obtain answers to questions and resolve issues with vocational rehabilitation or independent living services, independent living centers (federally funded), and community rehabilitation programs.
